Baba Siddique murder: Police constable providing security to NCP leader suspended

Police constable Shyam Sonawane, who was providing security to NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead by miscreants earlier this month, was suspended for negligence and inaction at the time of the incident.
Sonawane claimed that he couldn’t react immediately when the firing on Baba Siddique happened as he was unable to see the people firing at him due to firecrackers being set off at that time.
On October 12, Baba Siddique was shot outside his MLA son’s office in Mumbai’s Nirmal Nagar, suffering gunshot wounds to the chest. He was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, in a recent development in the case, the Mumbai Police said a photograph of Baba Siddique’s son, Zeeshan Siddique, was found on the phone of one of the arrested accused. Police stated that the picture was shared with the accused by their handler through Snapchat.
“Investigation revealed that the shooters and conspirators used Snapchat to share information with messages being deleted after instructions were given,” Mumbai Police said, news agency ANI reported.
